Boaco is the Capital and Municipality of Nicaragua's Boaco Department. Boaco is located in the central region of Nicaragua, apptoximately 88 kilometers from Managua.
The city is surrounded by mountains, and at the same time it located in the skirts of a hill, which has made it develop at two heights. Because of this, it was named "Ciudad de Dos Pisos" or City of Two Floors by Dr. Armando Incer Barquero.
